Cheap GPS systems – A-GPS in good quality at a price you can afford

กรกฎาคม 30th, 2010 โดย paramoz in Gps Prices Articles · ไม่มีความเห็น

The TomTom GPS receiver has revolutionized the cheap GPS systems. It has brought to the consumers, state of the art technologies, at affordable prices. Previously, goodies like address entry via voice, lane assistance, and 3D renderings of complex intersections, were available only if you were ready to pay a bomb for it. But TomTom GPS device has changed all that and more. The portable navigation system also has optimized features like route and distance calculation. This is done based on an inventory of traffic data. Apart from all the above states, the TomTom GPS device also has super swanky add on like text-to-speech functionality, integrated Bluetooth and a wide screen. The TomTom is one of the best GPS navigation system, which is available at a good price.

Sometimes, overloading with swanky features, is not always a good thing. Especially for those who are not very tech savvy. For instance, the voice command feature on some of the models, may not be very accurate. Often you may find it easier to enter the address using the onscreen keyboard. Another hitch is the lane guidance. This feature is available only for major highways and not for all roadways. Save these little problems, the TomTom GPS device is a dream navigation systems. The above stated hitches are minor functionality problems, which will not radically change the performance or efficiency of the device.

When it comes to cheap in-car GPS systems, TomTom GPS device is built, based on the philosophy, that it should be primarily a navigating device. The device may not have add-ons like multimedia, but it definitely focuses on navigation, that comes in handy for any driver. These devices can also be used as tracking devices, and also while you travel. The TomTom GPS device has successfully brought new services like advanced lane guidance, address entry via voice, and smarter route planning based on historical traffic data, to the public, at a cost which was unimaginable previously. Hence, no wonder it is the latest rave in the genre of cheap GPS systems. The models are not completely without drawbacks, but the welcome and useful additions, makes up for those slight kinks, leaving the user pleasantly surprised. The biggest plus point of the TomTom GPS device is that it integrates a portable navigation system with text-to-speech functionality. It also has integrated Bluetooth, and most importantly, offers detailed guidance. That's more than one can expect the device, which has such a cheap price good.

7 things to consider when buying electric golf Trollei

กรกฎาคม 27th, 2010 โดย paramoz in Gps Prices Articles · ไม่มีความเห็น

Using an electric trolley to carry the weight of your golf clubs makes a lot of sense and saves your energy for the far more important task of hitting golf shots. However, before you go out and buy the first trolley that catches your eye, here are 7 things you should consider when looking at electric trolleys:

What size and weight?

Although you’ll no longer be carrying your golf bag around the course; you need to consider that you’ll still have to lift your new trolley in and out of your car or a locker room. And with so many affordable lightweight trolleys on the market there’s no need to buy one that’ll break your back.

Most modern electric trolleys fold down to a really manageable size and fit into even the smallest car boot. However, if you’re planning to transport your trolley by car, make sure you check the folded size to ensure it will fit in your particular car boot.

What material is it made from?

The frame material will have a large bearing on the overall weight and strength of your trolley. These days this is made from:

Aluminium – extremely lightweight but can be prone to denting;
Steel – heavier than aluminium but strong and solid performing metal. Very durable and will feel light if mounted well on stable wheels;
Titanium – extremely lightweight but very strong. Being a relatively new material, titanium electric trolleys tend to cost a bit more than aluminium and steel varieties.
How easy is it to assemble?

Most trolleys are either fold-up or three-piece detachable designs. Either way you should consider how easy it is to assemble and break down. Some trolleys allow the wheels to be removed for easy storage and cleaning.

How good is the battery life?

Without the battery your electric trolley isn’t very useful. You need to consider the battery and how many holes it will last before needing to be charged. Most electric trolley batteries are designed to comfortably manage 18 holes (and typically manage 27 holes). If you need more life than this some manufacturers make 36 hole batteries. Alternatively, you could buy a spare battery.

What features do I need?

Variable Speed Controls are pretty much standard these days but note that some basic models may have just a simple on/off switch with a pre-set speed. The fact that most manufactures are adding more sophisticated speed controls all the time tells you that speed control is one of the most important features on an electric trolley.

Other features to consider are built-in yardage measurement and built-in golf GPS rangefinders,

What style do I like?

The very first electric golf trolleys now look very dated and dare I say it old-fashioned! With the introduction of modern materials and an appetite for funkier designs, electric trolleys now look sleek, modern and come in more interesting colours.

Classic looking trolleys are still available (and at a reasonable price) but you’ll find a greater number of modern designs to choose from.

What additional accessories might I need?

Many of the top branded electric trolleys come with accessories such as: spare batteries, umbrella holders, golf GPS mounts, rain covers, travel covers, winter wheels, bottle holders and seats. Knowing what additional accessories you’re probably, if in future be taken into account.

Who can trust you to good reviews golf training advice?

กรกฎาคม 24th, 2010 โดย paramoz in Gps Prices Articles · ไม่มีความเห็น

Golf is certainly not a sport for those with a very limited income. This is a sport that costs money and plenty of it, especially if you want to get any good at it. My friend Mike had recently retired and was wanting to spend his days happy hitting a white ball around the paddock. He looked around to see what other players were doing, and noticed that many of them were using enhancement products to assist them with their game. Mike wondered if any of these products actually worked and where he could find out more about them, in the least biased way. But who can you trust for good advice on golf training reviews?

Ask Around

The first port of call should be to ask the players that you see using these products. Often you can find some player with a special swing or putting training aid as you play. Ask them if they like what they use, and if they would recommend it. Ask them if they could purchase any product available on the market regardless of the price, what would they choose? If they say their game has certainly improved, ask them by how much. A good reference is worth hours of research, so if someone tells you that they are getting great results from something, listen up.

Pro Shop

Depending on the size of the course and club that you play at, will usually determine if you have a big, lots of variety pro shop or not. Often times, the smaller pro shops don’t stock any of the training products because they just don’t have the turn over. They should, however, have an opinion of what is available and what does and doesn’t work.

Sports Store

You can generally get a good range of golf training products at these stores but the people that serve you here on a whole don’t have the golfing background in order to offer reliable golf training reviews. Take a look at what is available on the shelves and the ask around as to who is using what and if they like the product.

The Internet

This is my absolute advantage in obtaining the best golf training reviews in one place. Sites like http:// improvegolfsvingover40.com the widest range of comments on courses, equipment, clubs, and techniques you will not want to go anywhere else.

There are plenty of places to get a comment about golf, but finding a place that can provide all that is like gold.

Easy Golf GPS Review

กรกฎาคม 23rd, 2010 โดย paramoz in Gps Prices Articles · ไม่มีความเห็น

There has been so much talk about the uPro Golf GPS that I thought I would do a review on this unit.

What makes the uPro GPS stand out amongst its competitors? Several things actually.

Graphics

The most obvious difference between this and other Golf GPS models is the incredibly high quality and detail provided in the graphics.

The uPro comes with what they call the ProMode which is in effect a video view of the green taken as if you were flying over it. Very similar (I almost said exactly the same as) to the view you get when one of the TV stations takes a helicopter flight over a hole and shows you the complete layout. This is graphics at its best and it is sure to change the way Golf GPS models are made in the future.

This high resolution aerial photography combined with satellite imagery not only gives you the layout of the entire hole in play but also shows slope and elevation variances before ending with a close up view and detail of the green you are about to play.

Basic Mode.

This is the standard option. Graphics are sexier and clearer with the 2,2 inch high resolution 320 X 240 color screen than any other GPS I have come across and the screen is easy to read in any lighting conditions.

In basic mode you have “Hazard” and “Green” views. The Hazard View show distances to various hazards on the hole in play as well as the distance needed to clear them.

The Green View shows distances to the front, centre and back of the green in play.

Pro Mode.

In addition to the video flyover and hazard and green view modes already referred to the Pro Mode features Smart View which provides three distinct views of the hole in play. The first is the probable and preferable landing area of the current hole in play. The second is a zoomed in view of the green you are bout to play and the third is a zoomed out view of the entire hole from tee to green.

Pro mode also includes Mark Shot view which enables you to measure any particular or all shots that you have played. So with the press of a button you can measure exactly how far you hit each club.

As if that isn’t enough to convince you that this is the only GPS to get the Pro Mode includes Measure Mode which uses “anypoint”technology. With Measure Mode you can select a point anywhere on the hole and the uPro will tell you how far it is from that point to the green as well as from where you are to that particular point. The benefit of this feature is obvious when you want to lay up to a certain distance so that your approach shot can be taken with your favourite club.

This particular feature is like having a Rangefinder without having to have line of sight. This is definitely a feature that is going to change the technology or set the standards for the competition to strive for.

Pricing.

The basic unit comes with one free Pro Mode course pre loaded. This would be the course of your choice and one supposes that would be your home track.

All other courses are priced dependent on the mode selected. Basic mode courses are cheaper than pro mode – obviously.

The following fee structure applies:

Basic mode:

All course downloads are free in Basic Mode.Pro Mode:

1 course for $ 10.00
5 courses for $ 40.00
10 courses for $ 60.00
20 courses for $ 80.00
50 courses for $ 120.00
At first glance this pricing structure seems expensive but realistically if you consider the number of courses you play and work out your costs it is not expensive at all. For those people who play a lot of golf at a number of different courses the added cost will be insignificant.

Other Features.

The uPro comes with a built in lithium battery that provides over 12 hours of power. It gets it signals from more satellites (24) than any other golf GPS, making it an extremely accurate unit.

The unit is sexy and slim. There is simply no other way to describe it. Small and compact and easy to use with one hand – but if both your hands are busy it does have a voice activated option that comes with the software!

The uPro can be used as a digital score card and will have built in analytics in the near future. This will mean that you can look back on your previous games and scores and work out exactly what part of your game needs to be improved upon.

uPro have promised a range of unique features for the future that will be charged for on a user pays basis. With what they have produced so far I believe all the add-ons will be well priced and useful features.

Likely Customers.

uPlay have done their homework well and are targeting the discerning golfers who knows what he wants and is willing to pay for it. They are also targeting the snobs amongst us (and I willingly confess to being one) who simply want the best to show it off.

Customers can also include the wonderful women who want to destroy their husbands and buy something along the lines of golf that usually do not, but for themselves.

Geocaching Tips – Selection of GPS units

กรกฎาคม 20th, 2010 โดย paramoz in Gps Prices Articles · ไม่มีความเห็น

There are many different types of GPS receivers on the market, ranging from very basic to navigational powerhouses. Using the features analysis presented above should give you a very clear idea of what to look for in a unit. Other factors include how seriously you plan to pursue geocaching and, of course, price! Units can range from a little more than $100 to over $1000! The different types of units are:

I would recommend that you go for a dedicated receiver. A dedicated receiver is designed for navigation only and cannot be used for making calls, as a PDA, or for any other non-navigation related activity. The different types are:

Basic: Basic GPS receivers are small, lightweight and relatively easy to use. They are also quite inexpensive, which makes them appealing to those just starting out with geocaching. The main problem with receivers classed as basic is that they generally do not contain base maps. You will therefore need to be quite proficient as a map reader as you will have to plot your coordinates on a paper map. Basic units also generally do not include antenna extension jacks or the ability to sync with your computer. I would only recommend that you purchase this kind of unit if you are absolutely certain that it is all that you will be able to afford. It is not that it is impossible to use for finding caches, it is just that there are some easier ways to go about it. It is sometimes the case that people are disillusioned or discouraged by their struggles on the hunt and write off the sport altogether. This situation can often be avoided by using slightly better equipment. However, if you relish the prospect of raising the difficulty level a bit, then this kind of unit will certainly do the trick!

Intermediate: The main difference between basic and intermediate receivers is the fact that intermediate receivers contain base maps. Some of them also include syncing options, the ability to expand memory capacity and a jack for an external antenna. The fact that the base map is included will generally translate into a much more positive geocaching experience as it will mean less fiddling around with paper maps. (It is not the case that paper maps are ever totally unnecessary, even with top of the line receivers. Having a base map in place just means that you will have to consult it less often). I would recommend if you can afford it, that you begin with an intermediate receiver as your first unit. This should lead to a much more positive first geocaching experience.

Full featured: The sky is the limit when it comes to full featured receivers! Most of them will contain all of the features listed above and then some! A good full featured receiver will contain worldwide base maps as well as topographical maps. There will also be the option of adding more detailed maps through a SD card slot or a USB connection. Some of the other benefits include:

· Connectivity – Many receivers can connect to wireless networks or to the mobile phone data network. Some also contain Bluetooth connections for data exchange with other units. This means that this kind of unit is the perfect paperless geocaching solution as everything that you need can be downloaded onto it, even when you’re on the move.

· Extra navigational tools – High-end receivers will almost always contain the following: Non-satellite-based compasses, barometric altimeters and WAAS ability.

· Extras – It is amazing to see what some manufacturers can fit into a relatively small GPS receiver! Here are just some of the extras that can be found in some units:

o Voice recorder: What better way to record your impressions of the hunt than by recording it directly onto your receiver.

o Camera: Some receivers have high-end digital cameras built into them, meaning that you have one less piece of equipment to worry about.

o Two-way radio ability: There are dedicated two-way radio frequencies for geocaching. Don’t be surprised therefore if you ever see a geocacher speaking to his receiver! It could just be that he has a unit that can double as a radio if need be.

Having access to a high-end unit is perhaps as close to GPS heaven as it is possible to get. The main disadvantages are price (some of them can do pretty serious damage to your bank balance) and perceived complexity. Many people take a view of all buttons and functions, and decided to go for something simpler. However, if you can afford and is not afraid to play with technology, I would definitely recommend this option.

TomTom GO 720 is the United Auto GPS navigation for all

กรกฎาคม 19th, 2010 โดย paramoz in Gps Prices Articles · ไม่มีความเห็น

TomTom Go 720 is a pretty nice unit. It has a great design and it is so portable it can be stuffed into a small pocket. The screen is large enough to read with out straining your eye.

When I started to become in the market for a Car GPS Navigation was when I stopped getting service to my cell phone that I was using as a GPS. I couldn’t figure out why my car wasn’t moving. I did some research online and found the TomTom Go 720.

I am pleased that the prices keep coming down on these great little units. When searching for a Car GPS Navigation I look at a variety of things; Portability, Durability and Clarity. I think the TomTom Go 720 has all those elements.

The price is pretty reasonable. I certainly don’t claim to be an expert. I am just your ordinary consumer looking for the best value for a Car GPS Navigation. I don’t travel great distances, I just do a lot of city driving and like quick access to directions.

I considered buying a car that had a Car GPS Navigation built in, but that was $1000 extra for the feature and it was not as good as the TomTom Go 720. When I look for a new car, forget about if it has a Car GPS Navigation. It just needs an oversize cup holder.

I never usually write up stuff like this, I am just excited that I can reasonably afford to get into a Car GPS Navigation and didn’t start to shop for anything until I started seeing that Prices begin to decline in these units.

I'm not trying to sell in particular the 720th TomTom GO Garmin GPS navigation units and car seems fine. It was a difficult decision because I wanted to make sure I was able to obtain additional equipment at an affordable price, it really is sick. TomTom GO 720, just won.

GPS profitable prices means that more users upgrade

กรกฎาคม 18th, 2010 โดย paramoz in Gps Prices Articles · ไม่มีความเห็น

GPS prices are so economical these days that many GPS users are not waiting long to upgrade to new car GPS devices. Instead of using the same GPS device for five years, or for many more, a lot of GPS users now keep their current GPS device for just a couple years, and sometimes less than that before upgrading to a new unit. This is the natural result of today’s super-economical GPS prices.

Much like cellular phones, car GPS is quickly becoming one of those personal devices that gets upgraded every couple years. The reason for this is the economical pricing of good GPS devices. When an owner of an older GPS device can get a new model for less than the price of the previous one, and often times for much less than two hundred dollars, upgrading to a new unit is a common thing. A lot of times they will sell the older unit to a friend or just keep it around as a backup.

If you bought your first car GPS a few years ago or longer, you will be surprised to see the features that are included as standards in today’s models. Take a ride with one of your friends with a newer GPS device and it will quickly become apparent that the quality and features of GPS devices are continuously increasing. Upgrading to your own newer GPS model becomes more a question of “when” rather than “why.”

What amazes many of the very early adopters of GPS is the fact that all modern GPS devices are now touch-screen enabled. A couple taps on the screen and off you go to your destination. The idea of getting any touch-screen-enabled device for around one hundred dollars is quite amazing–and that’s whether you were an early adopter of GPS or you just bought a new GPS model yesterday.

More than ever, right now is a great time to get your next GPS device. In order to get the most economical prices, though, it is important to shop online through one of the major retailers. There are many great reasons to do so, but the most important are that of price, selection, and retailer confidence. The major online retailers are held in such esteem for good reason. Time and time again, consumers turn to them to make their purchase. With the internet, window shopping has never been more fun or efficient. Are you ready? Click here to start shopping for your next Economic GPS devices.

Save Money Using GPS

กรกฎาคม 16th, 2010 โดย paramoz in Gps Prices Articles · ไม่มีความเห็น

As I’m sure you know, many drivers today have invested in a GPS (global positioning unit), and you probably have one too. They are undeniably a life saver for getting you to your end destination by giving you turn by turn directions to just about anywhere. However, technology is getting better everyday and they are now introducing GPS models that can enable you to save gas usage, and in turn save you money. Perfect idea now that the price of gas keeps going up every time we turn around!

Numerous people ask their GPS to give them the shortest route to an end location when they venture out. However, by asking for the quickest route instead, you can actually save gas. The shortest route may save you a little mileage, but it will generally be filled obstructions, such as numerous stop signs and lights that can actually cause you to use more gas.

Additionally, most GPS units have the option of adding particular points of interest, referred to as waypoints, when you are routing a path. If you have a lot of errands to run on a particular day, you can enter each location you need to stop as a waypoint into your GPS and it can map you the shortest route to get to each one. Just imagine the gas you can save by using this little trick instead of driving aimlessly to each place!

Nowadays, many GPS units come equipped with Dash. This is a utility that incorporates features of social networking that allows a GPS to give you much more than just directions. This service will also inform you of traffic backups and conditions to help you save even more gas. There is nothing worse than sitting idle in a traffic jam that you could have avoided if you had known ahead of time of its existence.

Satellite and internet connections are both used by the Dash utility, which enables your GPS to send and receive information. This function assures that any traffic reports received will be the most current available. What’s more, they are so accurate that you have better information than any helicopter in the sky!

As you drive, the Dash utility continuously sends and receives information in regards to your speed and location. Each acceleration, deceleration, stop and go is all transmitted as you travel. In addition, some good Samaritans will even post traffic conditions on networking sites, such as Twitter, to alert friends and family of traffic conditions.

I’m sure you’ve heard the traffic reports on radio stations as you make your way along your daily journeys. However, with the constant updates Dash sends and receives about your personal path, you can actually get traffic condition updates regarding all of the little side streets and back roads of the area you are in. This is because it is constantly receiving updates from other drivers in your area that have the Dash feature on their GPS units as well.

Another excellent feature the Dash utility will supply is the ability to let you know where the cheapest gas prices are along your route. As long as you are paying attention to your gas gauge and don’t wait until the last minute to refuel, where you’ll be stuck paying whatever the closest gas station is charging, you can access the internet on your GPS and get current gas prices for stations that are miles ahead of you. Imagine the money you can save having that information!

If you are a passenger today that it now has a GPS, be sure to find a script with a function when you decide to join the wave of technology. Not only can you reach your destination as quickly as possible, but you can also save money on the road!
